Great creative writing assignments for elementary school students

Writing in the elementary schools can become very stressful or it can become very boring for the children. Most schools do the tradition of spelling tests and spelling bee's. When your a child in elementary school that is when your imagination is mostly very creative. Kids expand their imaginations and become very creative at a very young age because sometimes they don't know whats real and whats not. A great thing a teacher could do, is having the kids use their imagination and turn it into a fun activity for their writing.

What a teacher could do, is assign some kind of object such as an egg or a t.v or even a bed to their kids. Just one simple object. Now every child has a different way of seeing things and have different ways of using their imagination just because every child does think differently. The teacher would assign the subject to all the kids and the fun part is, to have the kids write about that subject as if it was a live. What if the subject could talk or sing? Think of the situations that object could be in. For an example, A football. What if a football could talk and how it would feel to be thrown by people up in the air? Would that football be having fun, or would that football be so scared being up so high in the air. Another example is, an egg. What would the eggs last words be before it got cracked into a frying pan or while its in the frying pan? Many kids have different views of things and I believe they would have a lot of fun. Especially when everybody is done, They could share with each other what they wrote and how differently but yet funny and humorous their imaginations could be.

I believe this simple but yet fun project could really help kids expanding their writing and expanding their imaginations and using it into creative writing and they could see exactly how fun writing can really be. If they wanted to, They could even draw and color a picture of their object as if it was a live to make it go with their story.

Believe it or not, Ive done this simple project when I was older and it was so much fun and funny how everybody else wrote their stories and I think kids will have a lot of fun doing this great project and I think the teachers will also be very satisfied with their students. This is a project where both the students and the teachers can really share an enjoyment with each other of doing this fun project.
