Poetry: The power of a mother's love

A MOTHERS SONG

No longer just a boy my son, no more upon my knee. You're growing taller day by day, a man you will quickly be.

As a man you must provide all day and protect all through the night. A trying task I see, with strength, you must face the world and lead with bravery.

There are many paths to take in life my dear, try them, don't be afraid. Take God with you, as you seek and you will never lose your way.

Learn to love, to work, my son and work hard and happily. For any job is a noble one, when done with dignity.

Take with you these words through life and never do forget, the man who works from dawn 'till dusk, sweeping up the deck, is his worth no less, than the man who writes the check?

When you dare to dream, dreams of wonders grand, stake your dreams on solid things, not pebbles in the sand.

If your hopes grow futile and the storm clouds do arise, remember then...a man who never fails, is a man who never tries.

So face adversity with your head held high and forget not, when Jesus walked, he was not ashamed to cry.

Be thoughtful of a needy man and help him on his way, because you may need a helping hand, if troubles come someday.

Surely you will cross a man, who loves to prick your pride, keep in mind a gentleman, is stronger than the toughest man alive.

Weave honesty and kindness, in everything you say and honor and integrity will guide you through each day.

Learn something from everyone you know, be him fast or smart or slow and in knowledge you will grow. Even the least amongst the simple men, knows something you don't know.

Your smile is a bridge and can span most any gorge. An honest smile sooths the soul, opening many doors.

Make your choices wisely son, through wisdom you'll prevail. So plan your steps before you set your foot upon the trail.

Thumb your nose at foolishness, idle words don't say. Never let a day go by, you don't laugh, love or play.

Think before you speak my boy, take mind of what you say, for a bridle tongue will bring a man success in every way.

A man who always keeps his word is honored above the rest, in everything you say and do, the truth is always best.

When tempting forces do arise, protect your ears and your eyes, for all that can destroy a man, waits sweetly in disguise.

The man who climbs the highest peaks, who flies above the rest, is the man who learned to use his wings, before he left the nest.

The time will come someday when you will search the world on high, for the woman you will call your wife and walk with her side by side.

Don't be fooled by beauty, you see before your eyes, you'll learn a pretty face can hide one thousand ugly lies.

Diamonds are found in places most men will never find, so if you've found a diamond, a treasure you have mined.

Many gems are shiny, but diamonds precious few. In a diamond you have a gift, a blessing through and through.

When you have your diamond, cherish her until the end. For who would take a diamond and toss it in the wind?

There are many places in this world, some fine, some right, some wrong but wherever this life leads you son, YOU are your MOTHERS SONG.
