What ever happened to the trust in our doctors, all the doctors of years ago who came to our homes when our families were sick.
Doctors who took little or no pay for their services.
I realize times have changed, but so has our medical profession, it now seems that the ole mighty dollar means more to the doctors then the care we as patients receive.

I just lost a family member because the doctors could not wait on the EKG which is required before any surgery to see if the patient can handle the surgery, the doctor would have known she had a heart attack and not gallbladder disease which they removed in the surgery room and the stress from the surgery caused her second heart attack while on the table.
I am not a doctor by any means, but If I had a patient as old as eighty, you can bet I would lean towards heart disease, first and foremost.

One of the doctors mentioned that had he known about the EKG she would had never had surgery, she eventually died after the doctors mistake.
No doctors aren't expected to know everything, but they cannot be trusted either. If you are going to put your trust in a doctor,be sure you know everything there is to know about them, within reason.

Before you have any surgery's,don't be afraid to ask questions,or get a second opinion. Many teaching hospitals allow residents to do surgery on patients while the patients doctor assist them, make sure you are aware of this. Also check to see if your surgeon has malpractice insurance coverage.

Check him or her out with the AMA or the hospital the doctor is affiliated with.
Sure we are all human, we all make mistakes, but this is happening in the medical profession to much.
And one doctor will protect another doctor even if they are at fault, and tell one lie after another to cover up their mistake.

We go to these doctors for help with our medical problems not to end up maimed or dead.
Many patients refuse medical treatment because of the trust issue with these doctors. And when a patient dies because of these medical mistakes it affects the families mentally as well as emotionally.
Preventable medical mistakes are the fifth leading cause of death in the United States.
And the medical profession wonders why we have a trust issue with them.
