Many people have seen vivid descriptions displayed on movie screens, in books, and through the words of men about Armageddon. Many have depicted Armageddon as being some sort of natural occurrence from outer space that demolishes the whole earth.

This is not true. Revelation 16:14,16 describes Armageddon as the war of the great day of God the Almighty. This is the only time Armageddon is mentioned in the Bible. The bible does not leave us in the dark about how we should know if we are close to that war or not.

Armageddon is described as a symbolic place in a point of history in which the kings of the earth will be gathered together by the demons to wage war against God.

In order to know if we are close to that war, let us look at a few key scriptures. 1 Timothy 3:1-5 tells us how we would know that we are living in the last days. It speaks of "critical times that are hard to deal with being here. Men would be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of GOD, having a form of Godly devotion, but proving false to its power."

We can look at the whole world and see one or more of these attitude traits being displayed in almost everyone we meet.

Jesus spoke of a composite sign that would let his people know that the end is near. In Matthew chapter 24 Jesus speaks of nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There would be earthquakes in one place after another, food shortages and pestilences.
In Revelation, which is a book written specifically for the last days, chapter 6 four horsemen ride. The first one a white horse (Jesus), the second a fiery colored horse (war), the third a black horse (food shortages), the fourth, a pale horse (people dying by deadly plague, war, and food shortage). These symbolic horses riding coincide with what Jesus said would be happening in our day.

Jesus spoke of a Great Tribulation that has never occurred on the earth before, neither will it occur again. This he brought out at Matthew 24:21,22. We are nearing that Great Tribulation. God would have to cut the days short or no flesh would survive. Just look at the earth's condition with the threat of pollution and global warming alone which threatens to wipe out entire species of animals. Diseases
