Years ago I did not really appreciate all that was available in Atlanta. Years ago people called it the New York City of the south. That turned me off. If I wanted to go to New York, I would go to the real New York and not a substitute. Atlanta Georgia has so much to offer. Atlanta is also a great place to take the family on vacation. There is something for the shopaholics, families, and foodies.

Do you love shopping as much as I do? There are plenty of shopping centers, outlet centers, and malls. With all the shopping available, you might not have time to do anything else. There is Discover Mills (Exit 108 off I-85), Gwinett Mall (Exit 103 off I-85) , Mall of Georgia (Exit 115 off I-85), Lennox mall and IKEA ( both downtown Atlanta). Discover Mills has Bass Pro Shop, Ross, and many other clothing stores. The Mall of Georgia is one of the biggest malls in the southeast. Every possible anchor store is here: Macy's, Belk, Sears, JcPenny, and Dillards. There is even a Restoration Hardware. When thinking about visiting the Lennox Mall, imagine all the brands you love in all the malls you ever visited put into one location. For example, there is Sephora, Bare Escentuals, Coach, and Apple store. Before you decorate your house, especially if you love the modern style, you should go to IKEA and see what they have. They sell smartly designed furniture and uber cool accessories. And there are a lot of little gadgets that you will think are nifty and handy to have around the house. For example, I bought a very fashionable lamp for my bedroom for $10. It was a funky shape with white and blue colors. I would have never found it any where else and especially at that price.

If you are looking for ethnic foods, you do not have to travel far in Atlanta. There are a variety of farmer's markets and international food markets. Allow me to list some of my favorites and the reasons why. Carter Crossing Farmers Market (corner of Buford Hwy and Jimmy Carter Blvd) is nice for their selection of Mexican foods. Gwinett International Farmers Market (exit 103 off I-85) has a lot of Caribbean and Asian foods. I always make a trip to International Farmers Market (Jimmy Carter Blvd exit off of I-85) to stock up on their large selection of bulk seasonings, fresh produce, and great cheese selection at good prices. Visiting the Buford Hwy Farmers Market (Buford Hwy off of I-285) is good because they have the best price on fresh blue crabs, croker, and belt fish. When I choose the fish I want,
