Since privacy home window film only provides daytime privacy, you will still need blinds or curtains for privacy at night.

If you're installing home window tint for the purpose of home cooling, you can save money by installing the film only on west and south facing windows which tend to let in the most sun. There are also some static cling films which are removable, so that you can allow the sun to warm your home during the winter, yet block unwanted heat during the summer months. This type of static cling film can be removed very easily using only water and a squeegee. It can then be stored and easily reinstalled when summer rolls around again the next year. People who live in hot climates may find that a permanent installation of home window tint is preferable.

Whether you're doing it yourself or getting a professional installation, home window tint is an excellent investment which will last you around fifteen years. Over time it will pay for itself and save you money on your air conditioning bills.

Additionally, using home window tint is an excellent way to protect the environment. You will significantly reduce your usage of electricity, gas and oil for heating and cooling. Window treatments and furniture will not have to be replaced as often. This can dramatically reduce the amount of wood, coal and oil that is burned at plants to generate electricity to fuel your home. It can also significantly reduce the carbon dioxide which is emitted into the environment.
