We get the justice system we deserve.
When was the last time you went to jury duty? Paid attention to what judge you voted for? Knew what the Court was deciding on issues in your district?
Chances are that you avoid Court, like everyone else, as much as possible. Court is for attorneys and criminals or people with nothing else to do. If you ignore a system, it will do what it wants until you find it out of hand. Then one day you will wake to find that you have the system you deserve.
We have the justice system we deserve.
The justice system is out of hand. It is both individually and as a system beyond our ability to rein in without severe and strict measures.
I will give an example.
Darren Mack. An upper class guy. Not too rich, but definitely not middle class. His family owned a pawnshop in the heart of Reno for three generations. They had seen Reno grow from a frontier town to a city like any other. He had grown up knowing one day he would own and run that pawnshop. He married and had children with a woman who didn't work and didn't want to. When the divorce came, she, predictably, wanted everything. The kids, the house, the business. Everything. Her lawyer was a good one. His lawyer was alright too. Between them they came up with a reasonable split. Undoubtedly more than she deserved, but that is the way it goes with those kind of divorces where money is.
The problem came near court time. She decided she wanted even more. She wanted him to pay. She wanted him to suffer. The judge jumped in with two feet. Both attorneys asked for more time to get things settled. The judge wanted it finished. He had his eye on a high profile case coming up. He was known as brash and forceful, angling for public office. He wanted this case done.
The judge's decision, made on a spur of the moment, would bankrupt Darren Mack. A family man. A man who had been a fixture and a standard in his community for his entire life. He now faced bankruptcy. The loss of a business that had been his birthright. His ex wife would get TEN THOUSAND dollars A MONTH. Just for expenses. She would get cars and houses and the kids and paid up mortgages. He would live in an apartment with cheap rent. He didn't care about the apartment though. It was the business that hurt him more than he could bear.
He learned to shoot over a period of three weeks and shot away his life and everyone's around him. The judge killed Mrs. Darren Mack. He made the children suffer a life without their parents. All to get to
