Every morning we embark on a new journey out into the world and leave our homes behind. On a few occasions we may have the wonderful experience of peering through a looking glass we call our window.
What do you see? Perhaps you are greeted by the mountains, the dense wood of forest, dessert, maybe lush green fields. But, if your home is anything like mine, you may just find yourself looking out to the view of somebody else's house. It's not so pretty is it?
By pulling down shades, and casting drab curtains over your windows you hide away the sun. You invite the darkness to linger and shadows to grow. So why not push away the darkness and let a little bit of light back in your life with a simple solution called "window film".
Window film is an easy cost effective way to cover you windows and still allow the sunlight to wash into you home without the worry of fading your dcor. They come in a variety of styles, and cling to your window like wallpaper. They can be removed with no trouble at all.
There are three types of Window Films:
Stained Glass Window Films add a splash of color and richness to a room. If you love the look of stained glass window, but can't afford to have one made in your home this is a cost effective way to create an eye catching masterpiece. Don't be afraid to try something bold.
Frosted Window Film cover the window for some extra privacy while allowing a beautiful etched design over the window.
Privacy Window Film covers the entire window in a variety of designs. It gives you ample light coming through and nobody's view from the other side.
So what can you do with these options? Here are some ideas.
Bathrooms: Frosted Etched Window Films look great on glass show doors and bathroom mirrors as accents. For added light and privacy cover the window in your bathroom in a design to complement your shower.
Windows should be looked through, or at least admired, not covered and hidden. Use window films to brighten up your rooms and accent your dcor.
Mirrors trimmed with frosted window films create an intriguing focal point in hallways and bedrooms.
Spruce up your entry with a faux finished stained glass door or frosted etched vine design. Don't forget about your glass covered screen door.
Cover attic windows viewed from the road side.
Skylights? No problem, bring the clouds down a little closer to view with a window film.
Basement windows that are odd shaped or need custom coverings are crying out for window film. What better way to give an ordinary window that glass block look for a fraction of the cost.
Accent any glass table in your home with a decorative frosted etched print window film. When your taste changes all you have to do is change the window film.
Window films have been growing in popularity over the last few years. They are as easy as sticking up pre-pasted wall clings, and more cost efficient than constructing a stained glass window. They can be changed on a whim, and most importantly they open up the view of your window and let the light in.
If you don't like the morning view through your looking glass then don't you think it's time for a change? You don't have to sell your house, just open your mind to a new possibility.
