Take-out & Delivery Menus - For those who frequently eat out or order out this category can help make the routine a lot simpler. Keeping menus together makes them easier to find which means dinner is on it's way a lot sooner.

Tax Return Information - This is a very important category to keep records and copies of past tax returns as well as forms for current tax return filing. Keeping these together is important for reference as needed and to make tax time a lot easier.

Travel Documents & Planning - Travel brochures, itineraries, travel agent contact information and all things relating to vacation or travel plans.

Vital Documents - One of the most important categories to keep preserved, here you will keep copies of identification cards for everyone in the home as well as social security cards, passports, life insurance and long-term care insurance policies, wills, living wills and birth certificates as well as adoption records. This category is best kept where it can be securely locked to avoid theft and where it is damage proof such as a safe.

Once you have everything it it's proper category, you can choose how you would like to file these times. You can make a folder or folders for each category above and keep these in a lockable file cabinet. A desktop file holder is excellent for keeping spare folders also labeled with the above categories where you can store items for later filing. Hanging file folders and file folders are now available in various colors for visual organization.

Keeping up with this system is super simple and easy. Simply decide upon a frequency on which you will file and easily slip all paperwork from the desktop file folders to the file cabinet. Maintaining this system makes all the difference between signing a permission slip in 5 minutes and having to look for it for 3 days. Paperwork is a reality in every home but now it's no longer a nightmare.
