Does the perfect deodorant exist? I guess it must, but perfect means different things to different people. Some want their deodorant predominantly to keep the sweat away, while others choose the scent first with deodorizing effects coming a poor second place. Luckily for me I believe I found the best of both worlds when I stumbles upon a display of Ben Sherman deodorant in my local store the other day.
Now I'm a big fan of Ben Sherman, I wear his shirts and T-shirts, I occasionally slip into his pants, and I always strap a watch of his onto my wrist and can be seen adorned with his sunglasses in the summer months. So when I noticed that he had lent his good name to a range of deodorants and body sprays I was excited beyond compare. Now I could smell like my hero as well as wearing all of his quality clothing and accessories.
To be fair, you'd be hard pushed not to notice Ben Sherman deodorant as it comes resplendent in a lime green canister. Both the body spray and deodorant come in three scents, all given cheeky little names to appeal to the rascals amongst us. The first is "Who gives a shirt" and has a cheeky chappy on the can winking suggestively at all and sundry, he is wearing a blue shirt which gives an indication of which scent you are looking at in that the other two scents, "Up shirt creek" and "Shirt hits the fan" are decorated with an orange and red shirted rascal respectively.
So what does it smell like? In a word Glorious. It has a slightly zesty smell to it along with a hint of talcum powder and a manlier muskiness that gives it that sporty scent without being too overpowering. It really is a wonderful smell that is rather hard to articulate yet mighty easy to spray on your body, If you are interested in buying some the only thing I can suggest is to give the tester can a squirt and take a good sniff of the spray.
As far as its effectiveness is concerned I CAN comment on the body sprays success in that department. Working in a hot Kitchen for ten to twelve hours a day can occasionally leave me smelling slightly ripe, but since using Ben Sherman deodorant I smell as fragrant after work as I did before, and there's not many sprays that can perform that small miracle. It really is the king amongst its peers as far as longevity of smell is concerned. On average a can lasts me about two weeks but I'm fairly liberal with it, the average person should expect at least three weeks usage from one can.
So, as far as I am concerned the search for the perfect deodorant is over, it's the full five stars from me, any deodorant or body spray that can keep me smelling like a daisy all day cannot be bad, the smell is lovely and it dries almost instantly when sprayed about the body, there is also none of that nasty white residue sometimes apparent with lesser brands.
