Ahhh...how to reach for the stars! This has been a human desire for centuries and lifetimes. How to truly reach for the stars lies within you and others. I have seen many people; many faces...but the true face of a star is when you see beauty and power in others and yourself. Success is defined by society as how you look, dress, and how much wealth you achieve. I do not know if this is a quite accurate description because I have run into many people and many places that do not know this and are not aware of such a "narrowed sense of view". But, if you look at society today, you see many unhappy people with a narrowed sense of success. My friend told me that last night a television program was on exposing liars. People dig this; they get off on seeing another's misfortune. The poor contestants win money if they are caught lying. Now, call me a cynic, but I think it should be the other way around..winners should be rewarded if they are honest and truthful..however, being honest can sometimes be misleading. A friend once told me it is dangerous to be honest. Honesty is sometimes just as elusive as a tiny lie. So, it is kind of like a small vicious circle-you can't win for losing. But if you peek outside of the box, and look a little further..maybe take a glimpse into the enormous universe, you will find that reaching for the stars is seeing the true nature of things and nature is very kind and honest.

One of the women I live with was sitting outside, and she was speaking of this other woman who had done something wrong..but she saw through the bullsh*t, and spoke very kindly of her..she gave her the gift of human dignity, and I saw the woman I live with shine with human dignity herself. The way she spoke of her was with words of wisdom and objectivity, something which is a little hard to find these days.

When I think of reaching for the stars, I think of seeing myself and others shine. Seeing the good and letting it outshine the bad..always brings success. I do not know if this is the best way to achieve financial success, but I do know it makes you a success within yourself, and if you find yourself, you just might find something else that makes you shine. Where there is laughter, beauty..all those things which seem so hard to reach, and are somewhat intangible, we find something in ourselves and others that makes us shine.

Maybe reaching for the stars is reaching for ourselves, with eyes shining and hearts beating, searching always searching for something more. More than we think is within us, and more than we think is in someone else. It's reaching for something that we may think is so out of our reach, that we might not even be patient enough to give ourselves a chance to reach for it! But if you stay open hearted, open-ended, you might just find that star that you are trying to reach...
