Sometimes it's hard to pin point the source of poetic inspiration. For me it's my faith in God. I believe many poets put a little bit of themselves into their work and that's what makes it personal and easy for a reader to relate to whatever the poem is about. Some other sources of inspiration are personal experiences like falling in love, depression, loss, anger, and so much more. A poet can put any emotion into a poem.
