Writing began to be instilled into me in elementary school, where writing assignments began. Creative writing and art were a relaxing part of the day for me. In high school we started learning about poetry and also writing our own. I wrote and wrote for hours trying to come up with the perfect poem. I had over thirty. Very few dealt with love most dealt with the depression that I was battling daily. I was a very depressed teenager and child. I even had to spend time in the hospital from my depression. I found writing these poems were a release for me and allowed my black mood to lift. I feel in love with the works of Edgar Allan Poe during this time. Some of questioned my love of some of his works but I can only describe it as I haven't found many that can describe death and grieving so beautifully. By reading his works I felt that I could write things just as beautifully. I currently am not writing any poetry but I have begun to write on a book. Death is what inspired me to begin this book while love mixed with it. I was personally dealing with grief myself when my writing turned into an ode to this loved one gone. I think daily of her even after two years. I have fallen back to my release of writing.
