Poetry: A song of faith

"A song of faith"

I believe i can so i will
Do what's right that left me still
I walked tall and made it across
I did it all by myself hey there boss
I leap higher boundaries I thought i could not

Ol' boy ol' boy I did it
Did not even hurt me one bit
Taken that base from one great swing
Gave it all i had, did not know i could sing
Someone told me I'll be a star, that means allot

I couldn't see the future in my mind
One great memory the way it was design
All it took was your faith and believing in me
Now i know something i did not see
how much faith is beautiful to me

I ran for class president, no success
All they told me was, do my best
I ran a race, they beat me by a mile
sitting down for a long while
waiting so they can watch me

I felt like i mean something now
All i could do at the end, is watch the crowd as i bow
Seeing there faces as they smiled
The roaring of the crowd running wild
Who would ever know it only take faith

When everyone put me down
Turn my world all around
I went with my instinct
when i should have listened to my gut
Now it pays off in this great world of mine earth

I left everything i ever knew
just to make it in the big time leaving everything i been through
Thought i would be down hill by now with out a dime to my name
If i went back now it would all mean the same
Going down that road

To all that believed in me
pass me by now, going free
back at those great ol' days
falling in the mud, being last place at everything i do, going on them beaches getting some of those uv rays
every time i needed someone there you were carrying my messy load

The troubles i seen back when i was a teenager in love
It seem that all i could think of
The way i felt instead of what was out there
If i could go back i would have loved to see everything fair
instead of losing everything that meant something to me

I knew if i could have just one day that i truly would loved to keep
To make a difference in another life that's all i would reap
I thought thats the day for me to shine
It all could be mine
Everything i could ever be

who ever would ever know it took faith
