Reflections: Visitation by spirits

I firmly believe that the people in the spirit world are all around us. They are not there to do us harm. I have a couple of stories that happened within my family that made me a firm believer in the spirit world.

I was eleven when my mom remarried and moved us all to a different city. Within about 5 years my step-dads mom had passed away. My mom and step-dad went back for the funeral. After about another 4 years me step-dad started waking up in the middle of the night, it would actually make him jump up in bed so fast it would wake up my mom and he would be telling her that his mom was sitting on the end of the bed "can't you see her?" he'd say, my mom would reply that she couldn't, "she is motioning me to go to her." he would respond, but my mom seen nothing. This happened quite a few times over the course of about a year.

Within the year my step-dad had been diagnosed with A.L.S. ( Lou Gherig's Disease), there was no cure, he was given about 6 months to live. We actually ended up having him for 2 years, which we are very thankful for, but we believe that his mom knew he was going to get sick and that is why she kept telling him to go to her.

Towards the end of his illness, I had gotten pregnant, and I remember hoping he would still be with us when I gave birth to my son. He ended up passing away before I gave birth to him, and I remember being very upset about it, the fact that he would never have the chance to meet his new grandson.

As I was asleep one night, my step-dad had came to me in my dream, he wasn't sick anymore, and he was really happy. I remember opening my door to let him in and being so happy that he was healthy, and he will finally get to meet my youngest son. I introduced them and I will never forget the smile on my step-dads face that day, or on my own for that matter. It was all so real.

I felt so much better after this took place, I know that my step-dad was actually there, and he met my son. The fact that he had never met his new grandson has never bothered me again since the night he came back as a spirit and I introduced them. I knew in my heart that he came back to meet him, and put my mind at ease about the whole situation.

R.I.P. We love you.
