on building a community of readers who share a common interest. By using comments, and contact forms, your readers can tell you what they think about what you are saying, make suggestions, or ask questions. This gives you the ability to refocus your message according to what your readers want.
Gone are the days of trying to force your message onto your customers. Instead, you can take the opportunity to build a relationship with your customers, and to gain their trust that what you are telling them is legitimate.
What that means as a marketer is that your customers are coming to you by choice. That makes them more open and receptive to the things you are telling them. It's not some annoying pop-up or banner ad. It is readers coming to you as a trusted "expert" in what ever area your blog covers.
Whether you are selling products or services directly from your blog, or using your blog to promote your business in other ways, blogging has become a very valuable marketing tool. You have the ability to establish yourself as an expert, refine your message according to what your readers tell you they want or need, and build a community of potential customers. By having the ability to quickly and easily add new content, you remain fresh and relevant, which Google absolutely loves, so you can rank higher on the search engines than static sites.
If you are marketing on the internet and you don't have a blog, you are missing out on a great opportunity. Get started as soon as you can. It's easy, it's inexpensive, and it's fun.
