Fostering creativity in children

I have a two-year-old daughter, and I also hope to bring out her creative talents, to adapt to future changes in society. How should we do to foster the children's awareness of innovation and creativity? The writer here wishes to discuss the issue with the readers in order to explore the ways of creativity training of children.

Studies show that the stage of development of creativity of a child is between three to nine years old. It will be very difficult to rekindle the sparks of creativity if we miss this stage. Attentive parents are not difficult to find that the children always have potential creative capacities, and the key is how to guide and nurture the children's creativity. How to foster children's creativity, then? The following is some idea from the writer of this article:

The first we need to do is to create a harmonious air in the family, and create opportunities for the children to bring forth new ideas to solve some problem. It doesn't matter if their ideas are wise or silly. The first environment that the children contact with is family, and we need to create a relaxed atmosphere in the family, letting the children enjoy the freedom to imagine. It plays an important role in such an atmosphere for the children to be creative. You cannot image that the children could have a good sense of creativity in a tense and bad family surroundings. Only in a relaxed atmosphere can the children think out some new ideas and views. They make their own decision in this free-style atmosphere, so the children dare to suspect and question some set rules or answers - the courage to create.

Also, I think it is important to make good use of the children's curiosity. As we all know that curiosity is one of the propellers of creativity. Curiosity can manifest the children's mind. Facing the colorful world, the children have a strong sense of curiosity. A humble roadside flowers, a toy, small stones, bottles, etc. are wonderful and incredible things to the children, and they may raise many questions, such as why the stars of the sky cannot fall down on the ground; why the hens can lay eggs while the roosters can't; and so on. Active children are curious about their observation, and it is a powerful driving force to promote children to take the initiative to observe the world, and it is the internal driving force for creative thinking.

Further, we should cultivate children's interest and develop their creativity. Interest is to stimulate children's creativity. Albert Einstein once said, "Interest is the best teacher." When the children show a keen interest to something, they will take the initiative to observe it, which lays the foundation for the development of creativity of the children.
