Testimonies: How some people are meant to be alone

There are truly people out there that are meant to be alone. There are so many definitions of being alone in this day and age that you have to wonder what kind of alone are you. There is always being alone with your family. How alone are you when you have teenagers in the house even though there is no significant other? How alone are you when you are when your siblings are constantly in your business? How alone are you when your friends show up uninvited at all hours of the day and night.

The answer to all of these is that you are not alone. You can find a space inside yourself that is your alone place. It is the place that lurks in the deepest recess of your soul. The place that only you know of. No one can get to this place. There are a lot of times that people walk through this world with smiles on their faces and all the while they are in this lonely place. Have you ever looked into the eyes of a person that you thought was truly happy? What did you see there? Was there joy and happiness or was there a hollow expression staring you back in the face?

Three out of ten times you will see only your reflection. There is no joy in those somber eyes. There are hundreds of thousands of people out there that are alone, by choice. There are even more out there that are alone because they do not have the ability to share what they are really feeling with others. It is very difficult in life to find someone, anyone, who can understand the true you. Because you walk around not being able to share who you really are makes you alone. No two people in this world are exactly the same, so of course there is no chance of ever really being able not to feel and be alone at some point in your life.

More often we allow ourselves to stay hidden in that alone place. We do not have to feel emotions when we are here. We do not have to face the world and mostly we do not have to face our families. We know that none of the above are going to be able to comprehend what we are feeling and the torment that is raging through our heart and minds. Our alone place is the only place for us. Yes, we go on with the monotony of everyday life, but in all reality we are alone.
