President Truman gave the state of Israel a nuclear warhead as an inception gift. This had led them(the Israelis) to stir conflict time and time again with their Arab neighbors. Israel causes trouble and runs behind the U.S. The only reason Iran's president Ahmenajoud hasn't wiped Israel off the map, as he spews over and over again, is because he knows what Americas' response will be. I'm not saying that he is justified, I'm only saying that Israel couldn't do the things that it has without American backing. The average non-Jewish American doesn't care nearly as much about the Arab-Israeli conflict, as they do about Iraq. One could argue however, that Iraq has its roots there. Iraq is the Crusades II, nothing more, nothing less. Instead of Jerusalem being the target, its the oil reserves under Baghdad. The Iraqi insurgency views American support for the Zionist state, as the justification for jihad.

In conclusion, the children of David and Abraham are locked in mortal combat. They live in the same land and worship the same God. Both of these people have a right to exist, and need to be somewhere. The Israeli practice of land seizure, and the degradation of the Palestinian people must stop. The solutions to the current problems must go beyond sheer militant-ism. Political answers must be sought. The marriage of Zion and America must be viewed under more cautious eyes, for it only compounds the problem. There is only one way for this perpetual conflict to end. The past must be accepted, the present must be controlled, and the future must be peaceful.
