Benefits of home window tint

The benefits of window tinting may start with a new look for your windows, but the real benefits are in your wallet. Window tinting has been around for some time now and continues to grow in popularity. With rising energy costs and limited resources homeowners have to make the decision to go green or go broke.

Money is a factor every responsible homeowner uses to determine what changes need to be made to their home. Using that factor alone you can see nothing but saving when you decide to install home window tint.

Home window tint refers to solar window film applied to exterior windows of a house rather than decorative window film which is applied in the interior. Appling this film on the exterior prevents up to seventy percent of incoming solar heat from entering your home. This not only makes your home more comfortable, but it also reduces the electricity needed to cool it.

Not only does home window tinting prevent heat from entering your home, it also removes ninety-nine percent of ultra-violet rays from the light that comes in. This not only protects you and your family, it also prevents the fading of furniture and carpets. Leaving you perfectly safe with even more savings.

Home window tint will also make you feel more at ease in your home by blocking the view of any voyeurs wanting to get a look inside. The film improves privacy immensely. And to add to the comfort, by blocking the excess light, the window tinting will virtually eliminate all of those pesky glares on television screens and appliance surfaces.

Most home window tinting can be installed permanently, and you can chose from many different colors, shades, and reflectivity. Providing you with a low maintenance investment, and the look you desire. But if you feel that window tint suits you better as a cost effective seasonal measure, there is also static-cling window tinting that can be removed and installed whenever you wish using only water and a squeegee.

Permanent window films are usually professionally installed, however most films require few specialized tools to install and may be installed the consumer. Window film is typically installed after surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and wiped, using a industrial strength cleaner and a scraper blade. It is a fairly simple process but its important to remember most manufacturers will only warranty their window films when installed by a certified, trained installer.

Typical costs for materials vary. It all depends on the size of the window and the type of tint. Professional installers may or may not include material cost in their bid. Installers prices also vary depending on where you live. Whatever the price, the installation cost is nothing compared to the savings.

Film warranties cover virtually anything that has happened to films in the past such as but not limited to peeling, bubbling, crazing, demetalizing, etc. Most warranties are not prorated. If a film with a ten-year warranty fails after nine years, the manufacturer is contractually obligated to pay a dealer to remove the old film and install new film at no cost to the warranty holder. Some companies not only warranty their window tint, but they also warrant the windows for stress fractures and seal failures. Always ask about the length of the warranty and any terms or conditions that may apply.

From every angle home window tinting looks good, feels good, and passes savings to your wallet. This eco-friendly innovation has revolutionized the way we look at windows. In an age where everyone is going green ask yourself, where are you going?
