Poetry: Horror

See the darkness; bask in what it beholds,
The rain and the snow; the wind and the cold,
What waits for you in the dead of night?
Could it be a frightful magician or an unjust knight?

I sit and I wonder; searching my mind;
For some peace and harmony, but that I cannot find,
The guilt I hide inside that mind;
Poison, venom, corrupting inside.

Off with the light; out come those who wander;
Wander in the darkness, looking for their mind,
Inside me they roam, what do they seek?
Ghostly figures come to me and speak.

"Alas; I wander this plain alone, my soul it cannot rest,
My mind I cannot find. Your life I will torment, your life will be mine;
Under your bed and in your closet; the ghouls and the goblins,
Witches and demons, ghosts and mere shadows of the past."

And now my time draws to an end; the immortal I shall join;
In perfect harmony of horror, my soul ever trapped inside the mortal realm.
