The previous article reported that there are some women who are "irresponsible" by becoming victims of rape. I agree that there are some women/men who do dress to attract the opposite sex. Whether they are intentionally drawing attention to themselves is not for me to say.

I do know from experience, in my younger days, that I went out of my way to attract the boys in school, whether at the football games or just hanging out on the weekends, it's a fact of life. Girls twirl their hair with one finger, and talk with their other. Whether in actions, words or dress we all at sometime have wanted to attract the opposite sex.

We are taught and trained to walk and talk certain ways, no girl wants to be the old maid. I grew up in the 50's and that was the era of moms staying home and being there for husband and kids. By the time I was married in the 70's (yes I'm old) things had changed some, after-all we had survived Woodstock, and the love generation.

So with all that free love going around what happened? There seems to be a fine line between love and rape. I dare say that there are many rapes we never hear about or want to know, particularly in the boundaries of marriage.

Men and women dress for different reasons, and rapes occur in all types of neighborhoods, and with all different age groups, and it is never right. Television news reports rapes of the elderly and the handicapped, and I don't believe this group of people are trying to attract the opposite sex for a fun time, in the meadow.

Unfortunately there men and women who believe they have the right to violate either sex without any thought of consequences, but we all realize that there is a price to pay for rape.

When anyone is physically violated by rape, they are injured many other ways such as, mental, spiritual and sometimes the unwanted pregnancy, which is another debate altogether.

According to law a woman has the right to her body, as in ending the life of her unborn child, which might have come by rape. On one hand she is allowed to dress as provocatively as she desires, but screams rape when she achieves her goal, which is being noticed.

It seems as a society we are confused. A woman or man is raped the lawyers rush in to defend both sides, and the victim is raped again, by the justice system. If the woman is pregnant the unborn child is eliminated, and some say life goes on, but I don't believe it does.

Victims of rape will live with the trauma the rest of their life, and some victims as the unborn to not.
