This is perhaps a hard one because I like batman because he's dark and mysterious. Superman in some ways is stupid well more the show because it's obvious he's Clark Kent. Superman is probably stronger then batman and with out cryptonite it would be impossible for batman to win.

Since neither of these two characters exist it would be up to the writer and I can see several ways this battle may go. Does superman crunch batman and win superiority or does batman somehow use his knowledge and cunning to get cryptonite to destroy superman? Perhaps superman shows his power by overcoming the cryptonite or gets aid from a friend.

In actuality this battle would most likely never happen inless one of them became ultimately evil because they are both fighting crime. If superman and batman were to fight it would be together. If one became evil then obviously good would triumph because our society wants us to believe that's the way life is when in truth it isn't.

In which case if one became ultimately evil then they would win for the first half of the battle and have some great wonderful plan but at the last minute our hero would over come and destroy them. Often this happens because instead of just killing them the villain has to play some stupid game. Have you noticed they only delay killing the hero but never just a random victim? They will simply shoot someone they don't like in the head but will put out beloved hero in a cage with sharks that prepare to eat him or her alive giving time for escape.

So in conclusion it would depend which one was seen as the greater good. If neither were evil the battle would never take place hence leaving this question unanswerable. A likely scenario would probably be a stale mate in which both give up because they realize in there petty attempts to figure out who's the best the world has gone to waste with crime over running the cities because we all know the cops can't stop crime with out batman or superman. At least in there special little cities with non existant super powered villains.
