Satire: Politics

There was a time when I thought that the average opinion could not get any more ridiculous; but thanks to the campaigning for the upcoming presidential election, it turns out I could have not been more wrong. "What is more important: race or gender?" is a question asked constantly by the media, in reference to the controversy over the Democratic nomination. "Why are people so stupid that they'd actually consider a president due to his or her ethnicity and/or gender?" is another question asked by people with an ounce of since, such as myself.

I am getting so tired of people trying to play the race or gender card. There are those who say Hilary should win, as a symbol of how men are not the dominant gender, and women can rule just as well. You know what, I don't care. If putting someone into office who wouldn't be good for the country means setting a precedent for women everywhere, then I rather just not have her in office. I am not saying she would be a bad choice. Honestly I'd prefer none of the presidential candidates. I'd rather have someone like... me, or Maddox. Maddox is always right. But you see, a lot of people don't care about whether or not she is truly qualified for the job. They just want to set an example, without care of how screwed up Hilary might make things.

"Obama deserves it because of the slavery of his people!" These are the words of moron. Here's the thing: was Obama enslaved, or his ancestors? His ancestors. Did I enslave Obama's ancestors, or did my ancestors? My ancestors. Do most of you even know for sure he is the descendent of an African American slave? Probably not. I only researched his heritage so far back to find that he was born in Hawaii, while his parents were from Indonesia. It's possible his parents' earlier ancestors were slaves who eventually wound up in Indonesia, but it's also possible his family had been in Indonesia for generations upon generations, thus destroying any incentive that his family was enslaved.

I don't see why people can't be logical. The way a lot of people are, it would not surprise me if they passed up on the son of God (whom I don't believe in) in favor of a black man, just because they wanted to make an example.

Why can't the media cover the real issues? There honestly is more reports asking people their answers to the question I quoted in the beginning of this article, than there is reports on the real issues of the country. One of the least reported upon issues is, very unfortunately, education. America is in a rut with education, and yet all the media can do is make up rumors about Hilary crying for an hour (which would be funny). We need someone who will just step up, and bring all the idiots to their senses. Let them see the light; and the light, in this case, is a realm of rationallity that focuses on what is best for the lives of everyone that doesn't encroach on one's rights. Maybe I will be that man. Or woman, for you politically correctness Nazis.
