we would play cricket or football on the board.
The Audience
I detested the audience the most, because they made me nervous, standing in front of everyone to take my turn. At times, I would try to switch off, and pretend I was at home practicing on my own. Of course, that seldom worked. At other times, their support would help to lift our game.
Beginning to Advanced Dart Players
At whatever level you wish to play, be sure to play your own game. Try not to let a professional player put you off your game. Always do your best. If need be, it would not hurt to remind the professional if they are hassling you, that he/she was a learner one day.
Style of Play
Everyone has his or her own style of holding and throwing a dart. Some hold it like a pencil. Most players if right handed stand with their right foot up against the line on the floor. Others stand sideways, while some even stand with both feet slightly apart with their toes hard against the line on the floor.
The way you throw a dart is not important; it's the score that counts. Therefore, the best way to hold and stand in front of any dartboard is entirely up to the individual. Whenever and wherever you play your next game of darts, I would just like to say do your best, have fun, and enjoy your game.
