Growing older and still playing video games

life-like than ever before. Games were made on DVDs and now offered the same visual and audio clarity available to DVD movies. Along with the growing popularity of these games, DVD movies rose to overtake VHS tapes as the media of choice for viewing movies at home. It also helped that these newer game systems could play these movies as well, therefore eliminated the need to buy a seperate player for just your movies. Saving money and entertainment go hand in hand for the everyday consumer. Video games continued to grow into a multi-billion dollar industry.

This brings us to the present. Just recently, the next iteration of video gaming as been released offering experiences like never before. Multi-core processors, High-Definition games and movies, and playing over the internet like never before. These new additions are entertainment centerpieces. Created not just to play games, but to be your center for movies, music, and the internet. Almost a replacement for the personal computer. The next generation of video media is also coming with these new systems. High-definition DVDs and another format are fighting for your movie-purchasing money and this "Console war" may decide which wins in the coming years.
In closing, video games have grown alongside millions of people over the years. I grew-up playing games, I still play games, and I hope I die playing games. Like movies, music, and books, video games are a medium that is here to stay and will continue to become widely exceptable as a serious form of entertainment.
