TV network reviews: A&E Network

A&E is a station I have recently begun to watch, with great enjoyment. The shows like Crime 360, The First 48, American Justice, Intervention and more. In an age when watching reality TV made me sick to my stomach I found reality that was more real than the staged reality I was getting shoved down my throat. From nannies to bachelors to dance wars to swapping wives I was fed up and ashamed of what people were doing to get on TV.

Crime 360 gives a crime scene view at a 360 angle and they interrogate witnesses then enter the witnesses scenarios in the computer (where they have a digital 360 view of the scene) and input people where the witnesses said they were - now the great part is if what the witness said don't look logical or match up to the evidence they gathered at the scene they know when someone is lying. It's all very impressive and high tech.

The First 48 follows detectives that gather all they can in the first 48 hours, because those are the most critical hours in any and all investigations. Its impressive to watch how in each different city the detectives all work in very similar ways. They hit the streets, the research victims clothes that have logos on them, they interrogate witnesses the same and they all get choked up when they have to inform a family.

Intervention is a show based on just that, a family/friends doing an intervention with addicts (of all kinds, from alcohol to heroin). Coming from someone who has dealt with their own demons, this show hits home for me with each episode. If you can't handle watching people at their lowest of families at their wits end, this is not the one for you to watch. If you have a family/friend that has an addiction (to anything) this is the show for you. Addiction is harsh and every addict deserves an intervention.

I could go on and on with these shows and others, but I will leave it to you to find them and see their worth. This channel is not for the squeamish. The channel hits home and throws it in your face without shame. If you are tired of the stage reality, join those of us that have embraced the real reality.
