I do not believe there will ever be a fair playing field in the debate of men versus women, in the eye of society. When it comes to relationships and infidelity, I do believe that society gives men a free pass more times than they do for women. Society at times actually glorifies men for their naughty behaviors, especially in the political or celebrity world. Sometimes it makes me think that being sleazy, generates wealth and recognition.
Look at Paris Hilton, other than being the child of rich people, what has she done, other than making that pathetic video. If society favored men exclusively, she would have been viewed as a lowlife and not a celebrity.
I believe that women get a free pass also when it comes to popularity and getting ahead in their careers using their sexuality and not necessarily their God given abilities. Of course this does not apply to all women, but if you look at politics and Hollywood, you see it all the time.
Take Jennifer Lopez for example. She started out as a dancer on the 1990 variety show called "In Living Color" and I can recall Jamie Fox in concert even made a joke about her sleeping with the entire staff, basically working her way up with her body and less on her abilities.
Look at Britney Spears, and everybody knows she really can't sing to save her life, but she was blessed with a good body and good looks, so her concerts and music sales, but I doubt she can be confused with Madonna or Janet Jackson as having a real singing voice.
With that said, I really do believe that both men and women are favored by society, but in separate venues and at different times, depending on the "soup of the day". Society is a strange thing, but we are the product of our own doing, because we are a part of society and not accepting what we have created, can only be attributed to what we believe and how we dictate our daily beliefs and lives.
Saying that one gender is favored over another really is not very debatable in my opinion, but more for just talking points. I believe that both genders are reaping the benefits and in some cases being victimized, but we are society, so therefore we have no one to be upset with except ourselves.
