How to prepare for sports first aid

When you or a loved one plays sports it is vital to have a first aid kit packed with the essentials on hand. While playing sports all sorts of sports is a great form of activity and exercise there are many possible injuries that may occur. Being ready for anything is of course the best thing to do in any situation, so having the right items on hand is essential.

Depending on the particular sport that the individual is playing, there are certain items you want to have handy. Just as well there are some items that should always be packed for any sports first aid kit. You can purchase a ready made first aid kit or choose to make your own. Either way make sure it is packed in a waterproof container to be protected against anything.

Particularly if you take place in water sports you want to make sure the package your first aid supplies are in is weather and water proof. Having all the first aid supplies on hand will do you no good if they are damaged in water or other events. You also want to check the expiration dates on your supplies often to make sure they are current and work their best.

Some the basic necessities that are needed for any sporting activity are the following.

A First Aid Manual
Bandages (different sizes and shapes)
Iodine Preps
Alcohol Preps
Sterile Eye Wash
Cotton Balls
Q-Tips
Emergency Blanket
Insect Repellent
Insect Bite Repellent
Finger Splint
Wire Splint
Sling

When you play sports you take the risk of possible injuries. However you can not shield yourself from every receiving any sort of injury. Just make sure you are prepared for any sort of possible injury. This will help when you are playing with others as well and in case they are injured. Not everyone packs the required first aid supplies, so if you do then you can help save others as well.

Have fun playing and do not worry so much about the possible injuries that can occur. If you live your life in fear it takes away the joy!
