Easy-to-learn card games

Card games have been around for a very long time, ever notice when your bored there always seems to be a deck of cards around? I guess it's part of their popularity, but they are part of the house lives of many. Even operating systems such as Windows by Microsoft comes with games, most are actually pretty easy if you take the time to learn how they're played, course I'm talking about Hearts, Free-cell, and Solitaire.

The great thing about card games is that they are very family friendly, and bring people together. If you were looking for easy to learn card games, then you might have came to the right place. You see, some games are easier then others but if you take your time to learn you will find most likely find this games very fun for you and perhaps your family.

Memory
(Up to 6 Players)

If you don't know of this game, you may have been living in a cave a good portion of your life. All you need to play Memory (Also known as Concentration) is a standard 52 card deck. First shuffle the deck and then lay the cards face down in some sort of a pattern if you'd like, such as rows of five cards. As each player takes their turn they have to try and find cards that match, and the player with the most match's at the end of the game wins.

War
(2 Players)

This game is a bit more advanced then memory, but still very fun. Again all you need is a standard 52 card deck, the cards are divided and sat face down. Each player draws a card and the player with the higher card takes the other persons card and places it at the bottom of their deck. The process of drawing and comparing cards is repeated over and over, as you can figure the player that gets all the cards is the winner.

Beggar-Your-Neighbor
(Up to 2 Players)

Another very easy game, but children may enjoy this one more. It's very similar to War actually, the deck is shuffled and then divided between the two players, then each player draws a card and places it onto the table overlapping the player before them. This continues till one of the player draws a high card such as a ace, king, queen, or a jack.

The other player must stack lower cards on-top of the higher cards (Four for ace, three for king, two for queen, and one for jack), after completing the player who drew the high card in the first place gets the pile, the only way for the other player to stop this is to draw a high card as well. It goes without saying that the person with no cards left in the end loses.

Old Maid
(2 to 8 Players)

This game is very easy to play, and usually takes little effort. All you need is as standard deck of cards and a group of friends. First, take one queen out of the deck of cards. Deal the remaining cards out to each player one at a time until all the cards are gone, note that they do not have to be even after being dealt to all players.

Next, each player discards all his or her pairs, then each player shuffles his or her cards and offers it face down to the player to the left. That player in-turn draws one of the cards, and discards any pairs that may have been created and then continues the game by offering his or her cards to the player to his or her left.

In the end one player will be left with the last queen in the deck, and that is the winner, or loser if you declare this so at the beginning of the game/
