A look at international dominance of Brazil's national soccer team

The National Football Team of Brazil or better known with the name "Selecao" is the most successful team in the F.I.F.A. World Cup Tournaments of all time (Number 1 Football Team). Won the World Cup 5 times, most times than other national football team, and is the only country that took place in all World Cups Finals. Brazil also won the COPA America 8 times, the Confederation Cup 2 times and distinguished in the Olympic Games 3 times.

FIFA WORLD CUP

Brazil has participated in all FIFA World Cup Tournaments and won the trophy 5 times (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002), 2 times finished in the second place (1950, 1998), 2 times in the third place (1938 and 1978) and 1 time in the forth place (1978). Brazil ranks at the first place in the general classification of FIFA. Brazil has also organized the World Cup Tournament 1 time (1950).

Brazil has participated in COPA America 31 times and won the trophy 8 times (1919, 1922, 1949, 1989, 1997, 1999, 2004, 2007) and 11 times has finished as a second (1921, 1937, 1945, 1946, 1953, 1957, 1959, 1983, 1991, 1995). Since now has organized the tournament 4 times (1919, 1922, 1949, 1989).

CONFEDERATION CUP

Brazil participated in the Confederation Cup 5 times, won the trophy 2 times (1997, 2005) and finished in the second 1 time (1999).

OLYMPIC GAMES

Unfortunatelly since now, Brazil did not manage to won the olympic gold medal. it is the only trophy missing from the rich collection. So, won 2 silver medals 1984 in Los Angeles and 1988 in Seul) and 2 bronze medals (1996 in Atlanta and 2008 in Beijing).
