Romance is a gift. And the best way to keep romance alive is to gift each other romance in many ways. Sure, romantic gifts can arrive in large, fancy boxes with expensive price tags. There's always that candy apple red convertible for Valentine's Day, season tickets to sports or theater, and the tiniest box housing sparkling diamond earrings in a platinum setting, of course.

But the very best romantic gifts are the most simple, basic ones. That big, expensive floral arrangement arriving to work is certainly romantic, but it is so romantic when someone picks out the flowers rather than just makes a call to the florist. A bouquet of flowers from the grocery store always says, "I was thinking about YOU" and results in a warm, glowing smile that reaches way down deep.

Find a photo from a past good time, perhaps a picnic, vacation, or dinner. Put the photo in an inexpensive frame and wrap it up in tissue paper. Better yet, pack your own delightful picnic basket with grapes, wine, cheeses, and go to the nearest shore or park to enjoy the sunset. Take a memory picture and frame it later.

Go out shopping together and set a $5.00 limit to find something special for each other.
You'll be surprised what you can find to put a smile on the face of your loved one.

Go to the greeting card section and read each other the cards that you'd like to send. Even better is getting all those messages live all at once. Be sure to nudge each other when you read the really romantic cards.

You can give someone a gift certificate for that wonderful professional massage. You can also give your special person a hand-written coupon for a foot rub or a hand massage. Grab a lotion and rub those sore feet. You don't need to take a massage class.

Combing or brushing someone's hair is a completely sensuous experience. No previous experience is necessary to make this a relaxing, romantic moment.

Leave a little love note on your special one's steering wheel, mirror, cell phone, or briefcase.

Don't stop those very special romantic gifts of the touch of a kiss or hug. Make them every day events. Don't save them for special occasions. Keep looking at your special one in that special way with "that look."

Words are a romantic gift when you tell your special person how cute, sexy, beautiful, amazing they are and how happy they make you. Romance is the dessert of the love in our daily lives together. Let's keep it alive...
