It is so ridiculously hard to pick out a father's day gift that is something unique and special, something that you have not already given him ten thousand times, over and over. Something that he is going to look at and say "wow this is really cool and special!"

I know first hand that I hate choosing father's day gifts! My dad LOVES the yankees, and it seems like every year since I started working and had the money he gets something that is related to the Yankees! Even for Christmas, I give him at least one thing that is Yankees related! Heck, this year, I am taking my daughter to get her picture taken in a Yankees uniform, so then he has pictures of his granddaughter loving the Yankees! I know it is very lame.

Even when I was younger, all my father got was socks, plain white T-shirts, flannel shirts or some kind of practical tool. It always seemed to be the same thing every year, and no matter how hard I tried to make it unique, still somewhat practical, it all kept going back to the same gifts over again!

I think guys are so hard to shop for because they are so simple. They do not require much to get along or get by on and they are not too picky with what you give them. Women are complex and want, want, want. We want everything we see and we have to have the newest trends and fashions. Most guys, especially fathers are not like that. They have given all their trendy days up so that they could give their kids everything they needed and wanted. I am learning that right now being a mommy! Even though when Mother's Day rolls around, I will be having a list of things I want!

I just think that men need to be more vocal and be a little pickier on what they want and like. If they want something particular for Father's Day, they should say it and not act like it is no big deal. Maybe then if they do this, we girls will get the hint! I hate having to guess or spend hours trying to pick out the perfect present! It is so much more aggravating doing this and then the guys always wonder why we are so grouchy when we come home shopping for them. It is because they are sooo hard to shop for!
