Poetry: Depression

by J Mock

Created on: March 21, 2008

A blackness reigns
Supreme control
I am merely a pawn
Under a kings command

It rules my life
And I live within
A constant battle
To reach the light
From its dark depths

Flickers of hope
Bright lights on a day
A callous switch
To the next nightmare

To fight
Its hard
I live in hope
To escape the imprisonment
That binds me so close
