of AJAX, but still manages to run great, even on the slllloooowwwweeesssttt of slow computers.
Cons:
-No themes included (requires user modifications)
-Tabs would be nice, like Yahoo! Mail Beta or GMX Mail
Verdict: Gmail hits the sweet spot. It's great for techies or people who just want an email service with little or no learning curve. Some new skins and a slightly more desktop email client-looking interface would be nice.

Yahoo! Mail Beta: Yahoo! is one of the oldest search engines since the beginning of time...err...the internet. It's even older than Google (shocker!). It's evolved a site with tons of services, but I think its more "famous" for its email service than, oh, say its horiscopes section. So how does Yahoo! stack up?
Pros:
- Great, Outlook/Thunderbird-style interface with minimal clutter.
- Different color schemes
- UNLIMITED STORAGE: It would be useful if there was a "Yahoo! Drive" :P
- 2nd-best spam filtering (after Gmail)
- Uses integrated tabs, so multi-tasking is easy
Cons:
- Banner Ads
- Not-so-great services, except for Flickr
- Extremely AJAX-heavy, so it's hard to use on older/slower computers
Verdict: Yahoo! Mail Beta is a great choice for people who prefer the feel of Outlook/Thunderbird, but make sure to have a decent computer. That beings said, if you would like a lot of integrated services (Calender, Feed Reader, etc), stick with Gmail. Like I said before, it would be great if you could somehow map your Yahoo! Mail account onto your computer.
So basically, if you want a bunch of services held tightly together under a single account, grab a Gmail account. But if you prefer a cleaner, polished, more Outlook-like interface, grab a Yahoo! account.
