Feather of Freedom
We said hello with a smile
Just a momentary glance
Nothing all that special
A meeting by chance
An instant connection
Like two destined friends
Little did I know
You'd be a means to an end
Broken and not breathing
A disabled bird
My feather of freedom
Not seen or heard
You picked me up without knowing
You set me free
You helped give my life back
You helped me find me
You came in as a stranger
And left the same way
I never got to tell you
I wanted you to stay
I'm once again searching
For something again
Not sure what I lost
To say the least a good friend
But no longer disabled
Now surviving the weather
Strong enough now to know
I need more than a feather
