Poetry: A mystical horse

In the dark of night
A sound is heard
Deep thumping
Pounds the earth
It echoes like
A drum

Vibrating noise
Awake sleeping souls
It consumes the air
And trembles
Frightened hearts

Step by step
Nearer and nearer
Comes an ebony beast
Pitch black, shiny skin
Glistens in the moonlight

An eerie cry, shrieks out
Crimson eyes,beam aglow
Nostrils breathe,furiously
A slow gallop clops along
Until charging in a flash

Footprints brand,dying soil
Scorched grass,disappears
Unfortunate casualties
Of "Dratemis" wrath
A mystical horse

Doom rides the wind
Terror siezes a prey
Unrest roam among shadows
Searching for escape
At journey's end

A parable holds freedom
Find the cherry tree
Cross a broken bridge
Travel east of the sky
And follow a rainbow

Legend says it's a myth
The origin remains unknown
A curse is believed upon it
Hiding a riddle within it
To keep "Dratemis" bound
