How to subscribe to a podcast

If you're new to the world of podcasts, don't worry! I've written this article to help you out! I'll briefly explain what a podcast is, and show you how easy it is to subscribe to one, and begin watching/listening to your favorite content.

The term "podcast" has been exploding across the internet since the iPod has been released. But what is a podcast? A podcast is a series of files, typically audio or video, that is updated frequently through RSS syndication feeds. The term podcast is a combination of the works "iPod" and "broadcast", meaning that podcasts are broadcasts or shows made specifically for the iPod and other digital media players or computers.

Podcasts are available in almost any topic you can think of, and are a great way to get free video onto your iPod. When looking for podcasts it's important to note whether the content of the podcast is good quality and whether it is updated on a regular basis. The easiest way to subscribe and download them is through the iTunes Store on the iTunes music program free of charge.

How to subscribe to podcasts in iTunes:

1. Download iTunes
Before you can begin downloading and watching podcasts, you first need iTunes to subscribe to them. If you do not currently own this program, you can download it for free at www.apple.com/itunes/

2. Search for the podcasts
Once you have iTunes store downloaded, it's time to search for some great podcasts to subscribe to! To do this, click the button on the left hand side of iTunes that says, "iTunes Store". Clicking this button will take you over to the iTunes, and from there you click the "Podcasts" link in the iTunes Store directory to be taken to the wide variety of podcasts available for subscription and download.

3. Subscribe to the podcast
Once you've found an awesome podcast to start checking out, all you have to do to subscribe to it is to click the "Subscribe" button in the podcast's main page. Once you're subscribed, the podcast will be viewable in podcasts list in your iTunes Library. You can setup the podcast to download every new episode, or you download each episode individually.

That all there is to it! Easy huh! You should be well on your way to subscribing to all the awesome podcasts out there. Godspeed!
