People don't just like American Idol, they love it! For those of us that are musically inclined we love sitting on the edge of our seats week after week. We love to hate Simon Cowell. We love to see what quirky, obscure things are going to come out of Paula's mouth. We love to watch those singers become transformed into superstars. We love to pretty much every part of this competition.
Here is a show for the whole family to watch together. In today's world this is a treasured event to have a whole family interested in something. This show also lets us dream big and watch those dreams actually become a reality for those who work hard to aspire to them. They give us hope. Anyone who has sang in the shower or around the house with a hair brush are familiar with this feeling.
Two years ago, I had a good friend make it too the top 44. It was absolutely crazy to see someone I knew on television living out his dream. This really heightened my love for the show. His roomy was Taylor Hicks who won in 2006. I think the experience changed his life. I knew he was talented, but this took him to a new level and he has never sounded better.
It's still amazes me every year that so many females love Simon. I'm a Randy girl all the way. One other aspect of the show that draws me to it is that the show is live. This allows so much funny commentary between the judges and Ryan Seacrest. They come up with some great banter. I'm sure they really love each other and some of it is an act. But it sure is fun to watch the chemistry between them. In fact, I'm watching right now and they just asked Simon if he would do a sequel to the kissing scene with Paula. He said he would! Hooray!
I have watched every season so far. This year the stage is bigger and better. The talent is outstanding. Probably the best it's ever had. Now that they are down to the top twelve, I'm really getting into it. But I have to say that in the beginning, it's cracks me up to watch the horrible singers. It's funny to see them get so mad. They think they are hot stuff and they have no business singing at all. So American Idol has it all. It has humor, drama, action, and suspense. Who could ask for anything more?!
