WHO ASSASSINATED JFK?

The assassination of JFK with all of its' intrigue and mystery is the stuff from which novels and movies are made. In fact, that is exactly what has transpired as most of the 'conspiracy theories' have been created by people writing books, screenwriters or journalists wanting to capitalize on the subject. And capitalize on it they have! There have been many books and essays published as well as a number of movies or documentaries made in the years since the assassination occurred. No one really knows how much money has been made off the curiosity of the public, but it is undoubtedly substantial. The one significant point is that none of them have come up with anyone besides Lee Harvey Oswald as the assassin in spite of any claims they may have made.

We definitely won't be reading Lee Harvey Oswald's story nor one from Jack Ruby or those of various 'knowledgeable' people who may have been involved along the way. Instead we have gotten mostly fictional accounts of those hoping to convince us that they have 'evidence' and have pieced together the puzzle in an attempt to get us to buy their books. Enough time has now passed that the controversies are no longer of great interest to many people and it is unlikely that any really new information will ever be presented. The information that has been sealed by the government that won't be available until 2044 will eventually only reveal that there was some sensitive information that properly was not and should not have been divulged.

This never-to-be forgotten incident has generated a huge amount of both information and misinformation. This has allowed an almost unending discussion to continue with no real end in sight. To mention just a few items from among a very long list: 1.) Oswald's connection to the 'Fair Play for Cuba' organization; 2.) His avowed support for Socialism which was later rejected; 3.) His trip(s) to Russia and his marriage to Marina, a Russian woman; 4.) Supposed ties to the KGB, CIA, FBI and Fidel Castro; 5.) Conflict in the statements about his lack of proficiency in shooting a weapon; 6.) Conflicts and outright lies in 'witnesses' stories; 7.) Controversy over the wounds received by JFK; 8.) A shady cast of characters including Jack Ruby, Jim Garrison (New Orleans D.A.), Clay Shaw and various others; 9.) Jack Ruby's background and his reason for killing Oswald; 10.) Speculation on LBJ's political ambition to become president; 11.) Doubts about the Warren Commission Report; and 12.) The decision to seal certain documents until the middle of the 21st century. This list is by no means all-inclusive.

There are various 'investigators' who claim to know who, besides Lee Harvey Oswald, were responsible for the killing. But, Oliver Stone, nor any of the other film-makers or writers have produced any proof that it was done by anyone other than Oswald. Speculation will continue for another 40 years, but unless there is some hard evidence, we should believe that they are simply making use of the idea that nearly everyone loves a good mystery and this one has enough theoretical sub-plots to last them for a very long time.
