Millions of Americans tune in twice each week to witness the growth and entertainment of this popular show. The intense, suspenseful moments of each contestant singing popular songs in time, eventual leading to their future of staying or going home. Besides the goose bump songs sung, three judges give their opinion on each contestant's perform aces and singing skills.
Honestly who doesn't flip to this show; at least once in a while and sure, some of us enjoy watching contestants battle their futures out on reality TV. Though this may be true, what's so special about American idol? How do they manage to get millions of Americans hooked on stranger's hopes and dreams?
It seems rather simple to many, it's a game show. Tons of game shows have been created over the years and millions of Americans love game shows. So many different types of game shows are on TV these days and American idol is one of the most original game shows that has been created in a while. With that thought, millions of Americans begin to feel for a special contestant of their choice.
Some where along the journey of each contestant, they are able to touch a American out there watching their performance. With that moment of them being touched they grow fond of that contestant and then begin to tune in more often to watch their growth and performances. American idol has become an original game show that is able to make an impact on Americans around the world. It's become a personal game show.
American idol becoming a more personal inspiring game show is truly why millions tune in twice each week to see their favorite contestant. So then millions begin to vote to "save" their favorite contestant and some how they also begin to feel obligated to tune in each week.
Though there may be tons of other game shows that have become personal, American idol is one of the more popular shows where they give the viewers a chance to choose the winner. The best part is they give each viewer the chance to vote in the comfort of their own home, by phone or inter-net. As time has gone by the word of mouth has spread and more and more viewers tune in twice each week to see what the fuss is all about. Eventually growing quite fond the the entire concept of this popular game show, American idol.
