According to a popular aphorism: "Tall asks from little acorns grows". This quotation is very relevant to the business world because most successful business organization have very humble beginnings.

So how can you begin a business form very humble roots? That is the whole point of this article and the relevant tips are clearly articulated below.

Start small but think big:

This is self-explanatory really. It means that you can start out on a small scale in accordance with your limited resources but have big plans so that you can expand your business when the circumstances are right.

Cut costs:
If you want to survive in business then you must cut costs. Reduced to the very basics, business simply survives and grows by minimizing costs and maximizing profits.

Be open to innovation:
In business, you cannot afford to be dogmatic. As things change, you must learn to change or you will be left behind. Apply this to your business and watch it grow.

Recognize opportunities:
Business is not always smooth sailing. There are times you will experience a recession cope with it. But then, there also times that business will really boom. Recognize the boom time and cash in on it.

Treat your customers well:
Without your customers, you cannot be in business so recognize this fact and treat your customers like kings. This will make them loyal to you and make your business grow.

Reward your staff:
Don't ever take your workers for granted. They are very important to your business. So, treat them well, motivate them and they will be loyal to you.

Expand carefully:
If your business is growing and you want to expand, by all means do so. But be careful here so that you wont bite off more then you can chew. Expand carefully and be ready for any eventualities.

Think long term:
Success in business is a marathon and not a sprint. So, have a long term plan and a definite vision of where you want to be then work towards it.

Serve the public:
Business is all about service to the community and the society at large. So provide good service, fill a need and you cant go wrong. This is the secret of Wal-Mart, Microsoft, Ebony Magazine and Google.com, among others.

Starting a business form humble roots is not an abnormality. It can be done by following the right steps as outlined above.
