Spiritual methods of stress elimination

What give rise to stress? Why do we feel stress? Why some people cannot cope with stress and some people can? When people cannot cope with stress, they find that they have more stressed as compared to other people. Long term stress is no good for the body. Because of stress, many people suffer from mental illnesses. Hence it is important to reduce stress in our lives.

So what are the ways to eliminate stress in our lives? Below I shall discuss about the methods of stress elimination:

1. Create a To-Do list everyday.
Many times we feel stress, because we are not able to cope with the duties or tasks that we are supposed to do. Creating a To-Do list, and jotting down all important things you need to do on a table calendar. Like that, you can see what are the things you are supposed to do everyday. With so many things to remember everyday, having a To-Do list and a table calendar where you can jot down all important dates, saves you the trouble of 'remembering' them.

2. Handle Important Tasks First
With the list of To-Do Things, always work out the most important tasks first. If the task is going to be difficult and time consuming, then leave it last. In this way, you will not feel so pressurized with such a long list on your To-Do list.

3. Pray
Very often, we always feel inferior, we have no confidence of the work we produce, we got no confidence with what we have. I find that praying to God for help and guidance, can greatly help to reduce stress, knowing that when you pray, God knows your needs, and God is helping you.

4. Give Thanks
Not only do we need to pray to God for help and guidance, we need to take time to give thanks to him for the things you have and been successful. When you slow down your pace to take your time to give thanks to him, you are actually 'relaxing' your mind, and you are showing gratitude. When you have gratitude, you will feel appreciative for the things you have, you will feel better in your heart and in your mind. Your stress level would be reduced in a sense like that.

Usually, the best time to give thanks is before you sleep. This is like ending the day, thanking God for everything, and at the same time, you can pray for your next day.

5. Planning ahead
When you are praying to God for what you want, you are actually planning. When you are planning, you know what you want. When you know what you want, you know which direction you are heading in life, and you know what you should do. The point is to stay focus. Knowing what you are supposed to do everything, you have to stay focus and not be distracted by other things in your daily life.

6. Hobbies
Another way to contribute to stress elimination is to do the things that you like to do everyday or at least once a week. For instance, you can take time paint, or you can make a masterpiece of sculpture or even flower arrangement and so on.

7. Peaceful Time
Taking time to lie down on the bed, or lying down on the couch or just lying down on any comfortable place, listening to soothing music can also be a great relaxation exercise for the body.

8. Spending Time With Loved Ones
Spending time with someone you love, be it your beloved pet dog, or pet cats or your spouse or your parents, can also reduce your stress level.

The above are ways we can help to reduce stress in our lives. In whatever things we do in lives, we need to be balanced. And most important of all, we need to have a positive thinking. When you are balanced in life, and you have a positive attitude in the things you are doign, you will be in the correct path.
