Poetry: Endurance

Beautiful temptation,
My forbiddon fruit.
Do you know
How you torture me?
Haunting my thoughts,
Everpresent.
Though I fight it;
Pushing you away from me
Every day
Every hour
Every minute.

If I were different,
Was what I am not
I would love you,
Worship you,
Be your slave and
Give you the world.
Come hell or high water
You'd be mine.

And if it was myself,
And only me,
I risked by
Loving you as I do
I would,
But I won't risk you.
Not your soul.

God, forgive me,
I will fight it:
For you.
For your chance of heaven.
Maybe there
Things will be different.

I'll never say it
But I hope you know
I love you.
