So you may ask, how can I help and earn money at the same time? Its as easy as walking into a plasma center and applying to give blood. The process may be a little lengthy on your first visit being that you will have to a get a full body physical and qualify. Normally they have physicians on hand that will perform the necessities before proceeding further. After you have been qualified as an healthy individual you will be able to move forward and give plasma. This process normally takes about 2-3 hours.
But first, lets start with the basics. What is Plasma? Plasma is not your primary blood. However it is the liquid part of your blood that carries a great amount of proteins. It contains platelets,red and white blood cells that helps to oxygenate the plasma. Your primary blood supply is red, whereas plasma is a yellowish color.
What is plasma used for? Plasma is used as a basis for treatment resolutions and life saving drugs. What happens to my plasma after I have donated it? Frozen Fresh Plasma(FFP) is the process by which one unit of your plasma is freshly stored for up to one year. It will contain all the original proteins that it carried for this period of time. If it is stored for a longer period of time, it be reclassified as frozen plasma(FP).
