Let me explain a few things to you. I grew up in the generation where to go green meant you got dressed up for St Patrick's day . You pretended you were Irish ,told atrocious Irish jokes with an appalling imitation Irish accent , drank copious quantities of green colored beer and tried to stay out of jail. In in the event that you were thrown into jail the only cell phone you knew was the large black coin operated phone on the wall at the police station that you could use to phone your parents to come and get you to take you home.
My generation has had to dance a merry tune to keep up with all the latest and greatest gadgets. My son's latest cell phone I suspect has so many functions that it also uses telepathy to communicate as well. Just when I am about to drift off to sleep my son's phone blares forth with either some fiendish noise that passes for music or some gruff voice demanding instant communication. It's as if all his friends' cell phone can sense when his cell phone is not being used and rings it as a matter of course. My son's generation would gladly accept global warming as long as they could keep their cell phone to ring each other to complain about the heat.
I was a little on the dense side when it came to cell phones. Pathetic comes to mind, if you want to use the word my son used to describe my first attempt to send a text message to anyone other than the first person on the list of phone numbers stored in the cell phone's memory. Unbelievable comes to mind, if you want to use the word my daughter used when she saw five text messages from me to her on her cell phone all of which made little sense . I used to think myself that it was pathetic that cell phones have three letters of the alphabet assigned to the numbers key with no "whoops" key when you misspell a word. I have now mastered the art of a phone call and text messages. I have even progressed to recharging my phone on prepaid billing. I must admit that even with just the simple basics of a cell phone I would find it difficult to go anywhere now without having the sheer convenience of being able to contact someone without having to search for a public phone.
Global warming and pollution are no doubt two major issues facing the world's population today. There are plenty of people trying to convince us that global warming is real with real problems for future generations of all life forms on earth . There are also plenty of people who are of the opinion that global
