What is truth is the most important and profound question. It cannot be what is pretty ugly? That is one of those chicken or egg questions. It is pretty or is it ugly? Most of the time that question doesn't even matter, so we need a better candidate. What is truth is a time tested important question. This searching question was even uttered by Pontius Pilot, the Roman governor of biblical fame. Pilate found Jesus Christ not guilty but crucified him anyway. The Christ was therefore crucified political scapegoat on religious charges, not state charges.

What is truth? This question is what most disposed people struggle with. There is so much unfair and even the quest and understanding of truth is a question mark. Truth is such a fundamental things that we take it for granted. We assume that we know what is truth. Matrix the film assumed to tackle this question head on. The film had many faults but that was a noble attempt to tackle such a big question.
Truth is, we don't know. There are theologians, philosophers, and ever description of thinker who will tell you they know the truth. They even believe the words that come out of their mouths. I can tell you this much, truth is not sincerity. Your honest sincerity could be your truth but most people change over time.

Truth is pure in the eyes of the teenage idealist. Then life begins to carve into the idealistic truth and compromise slowly begins to take shape. By middle age, that same person could be so opinionated that truth doesn't matter anymore. Personal world-view becomes the supreme feature like the eyeglasses on an old man.

What is truth? That we live and we will die. In truth a Muslim man in some countries can take four wives. It is the truth that the marriage set live with. In the west, love is the truth for marriage. In recent years, sexual orientation has become an important feature and the essence of truth itself for some people.

Truth has become so personalized and subjected to circumstances that it is no longer the straight rule of truth. That is why we do not even know the truth anymore if we ever did in the first place.

In politics there is no truth. There is only position and indignation of the moment. That is especially true in democratic states, where the partisans pontificate with conviction and passion. Yeah, right. For now. Even with dictatorships, people are convicted for believing in the opposition truth to the master of the state. That is the truth but we don't even know which one is right. Really and truly right.

In the ages of enlightenment, we do not easily accept another person truth. In truth we hate war. In truth we hate one party or one man having power over another. We hate the oppressing and killing dictators. In truth we would rather rail against them, than send an army to stop the madness. The truth is, war never solves anything.

The war to end all wars didn't solve a thing. The great shock and awe war is a dismal failure. That is the truth. Or for the thousands of former political prisoners, it meant freedom. That is the truth.

The truth is, we don't know what the truth is. We just know that individually, we are right.
