Exercise equipment review

Once you have made the decision to invest in your own home exercise equipment, it is important to educate yourself to ensure you do not make costly mistakes. There are several questions you must ask yourself.

First, what are you trying to accomplish? Do you just need a few pieces of exercise equipment to supplement your regular trips to the gym?

We all want the benefits of using the most popular pieces of exercise equipment. You have a favorite piece of abdominal exercise equipment that just never seems to be available at the gym when you need it or want to use it. (Sure, everyone wants rock-hard abs. But do you really want the world to know you haven't been able to complete ten situps since before you gave birth to your first child?) Another favorite is the treadmill, especially when the weather outdoors restricts your ability to take long walks in the park. But doesn't it seem like the majority of the people using them must surely be training for the Boston Marathon? You may not be ready for a spinning class, but you know you could cycle twice as long on if you could park an exercise bike in front of your video of the last Tour de France. Rowing machines never seem to be half as tough to operate for the desired distance when you can fill the air around you with the sounds of waves crashing at the beach. Dumb bells and free weights are a versatile and integral part of a regular exercise routine, but by the time you get off work you seem to be the only person in that corner of the fitness center who has never once had their body oiled for a competition. No, you will not be needing anyone to "spot" you tonite.

Or is your goal to replace your sometimes inconvenient and, in most cases, costly health club visits? In this case, you will need a wide variety of exercise equipment to make sure you still get the same well-rounded workouts made possible by going to a fitness center.

Next, what is your focus? Perhaps you need to lose a few pounds, build muscle mass, or just get toned. Different objectives will, of course, warrant different types of exercise equipment.

Finally, what kind of budget do you have in mind? Perhaps you have the resources to equip a workout center that would make the NFL envious. If not, it is possible to find high-quality discount exercise equipment without going bankrupt in the process. What do you think happens to the abandoned stair steppers and elliptical trainers that are purchased with the best intentions, but soon found collecting dust in
