I have always known that my mom was the best friend that I would ever have. We have a bond that will never be broken.
My mom is the greatest person that I have ever known. She has always been there for me, no matter what the situation was. She has never judged me, like so many others have. She never harps on the mistakes that I make or the ones I made in my life. Trust me there has been a ton of them. She tells me, " As long as you learn from your mistakes, that is all that matters, and that you learn from them."
In 1998 I was raped by a family member. Then two months after that, my best friend died, at the age of twenty three. If that wasn't bad enough, exactly three weeks after my friend passed away, my grandmother had a massive heart attack and died at the age of seventy six. It was more than I could take. I was a senior in high school, when all of this took place. To say it was a bad year, would be a gross understatement. Needless to say I had a nervous breakdown at the age of eight-teen.
If it wasn't for my mom, I honestly can say that I probably wouldn't be here today. I had lost the will to live. My mom never left my side. She gave me hope, when no one else could. It took some time, but she helped me through this horrible time of my life. She was firm, but never pushed me beyond my limits. For this I am forever thankful.
My mother has worked hard all of her life, to make sure her children had everything we needed. We did not get everything we wanted, but we always had a roof over our head, food on the table, and a warm bed to sleep in at night.
My mom is the strongest person I know. She is thoughtful and understanding. She never has a negative remark to say to anyone. Her motto is, " If you don't have anything good to say, then don't say any thing at all."
My mother is, and forever will be, my best friend. I only hope that one day, I can be just like her. I can't put into words how much she means to me. And, how much I love her. I can not imagine my life without her in it.
You should always respect and love your mothers. They are the only people we can really count on in life. Mothers have to make so many sacrifices in life. I know mine did. We should all try to show our mothers how much we love and appreciate them everyday.
