The Chevrolet Corvette has never been just another car, it has always been a status symbol and it always will be. Just imagine the looks on your neighbors' faces when you pull this sleek and stylish car into the driveway or garage. It causes heads to turn, jaws to drop, and eyes to glaze over. Everyone wants one of these cars, even if they are too afraid to admit it. The company now makes three different versions of their classic Corvette: the coupe, the convertible, and the Z06, each with their own price tag and features.
The Coupe retails for $46,950 standard, making it the most "affordable" of all their versions. This car comes standard with a 430 hp, 6.2L LS3 V8 aluminum block engine, and a dual mode exhaust system with 436 hp and 428 pounds per foot of torque. An active handling system makes it easy to control the car, even when reaching some high and impressive speeds. Chevrolet has also added a six speed manual transmission, a one year OnStar plan, auto dimming mirrors, and polished wheels. Also standard is a three month trial subscription to XM Satellite Radio.
The Corvette is also available in a convertible version. Standard on the convertible is a 430 hp, 6.2L LS3 aluminum block V8 engine (same as above), an active handling system, six speed manual transmission, and the same trials to OnStar and XM Satellite Radio. Shoppers have the choice between three different trim levels, and two types of wheels. The Corvette Convertible retails for $55,425 standard.
The Z06 is the priciest of the three Corvette options, retailing for $72,125. The Z06 comes standard with a 505 hp, 7.0L LS7 aluminum block engine, carbon fiber front fenders and floorboards, six piston front brakes, and four piston rear brakes. The Z06 was created using increased technology and lightweight materials to create an unbelievably fast car, capable of racing at the top levels.
The 2008 Corvette is capable of speeds up to 190 mph, and can go from 0-60 in 4.3 seconds making it one of the fastest cars out there. The interior of all three versions are blanketed in smooth, soft leather in your choice of colors, with enough options to make anyone happy and content. This latest Corvette is the best in a long lineup of great cars, with a price tag to prove it.
